About the Summit
Kindness Summit is a youth leadership gathering that brings together student leaders from Angeles City and nearby communities for a day of meaningful dialogue, connection, and action centered on kindness. Now in its second year, the summit positions kindness not as a simple gesture, but as a powerful leadership value that shapes identity, influences decisions, and guides how young people relate to themselves, to others, and to the planet.
Kindness Coalition
The Kindness Coalition is the long-term vision of the Kindness Summit: a growing network of student leaders united by a shared commitment to turn kindness into action. Through projects, advocacy, and collaboration, it empowers young changemakers to spread compassion, inspire others, and create lasting impact that goes beyond the summit into schools, communities, and beyond.
The summit opened with Kindness to Self, led by Ms. Jasmin Bungay, an educator, beauty queen, and advocate who shared a deeply personal journey of courage, change, and becoming.
Through the different seasons of her life, she showed students that growth often comes through uncertainty, setbacks, and bold decisions. Her session emphasized that self-compassion means relating to ourselves kindly and embracing who we are, flaws and all. She introduced three important practices: treating ourselves with kindness, remembering our common humanity, and choosing mindfulness.
She also spoke of fierce self-compassion — the strength to protect our peace, rise after failure, stay grounded in success, and keep moving forward with hope.
The Kindness Summit continued with Kindness to Others, led by Mr. Ilan Enverga, Founder and Executive Director of Global Changemaker Schools.
Drawing from his work in youth leadership, education, and global advocacy, he challenged participants to see kindness not as an occasional act, but as a daily lifestyle rooted in empathy, inclusion, and service.
Through stories of community action and meaningful change, he encouraged students to become active voices for a better world, standing for equality, uplifting others, and responding to the needs around them. His message reminded everyone that true leadership is not measured by titles, but by the lives we touch and the hope we create through service to others.
The Kindness Summit expanded outward through Kindness to the Planet, guided by Ms. Amalie Conchelle Obusan, Senior People and Culture Partner and Network Relationship Lead of Greenpeace International. She challenged participants to see environmental stewardship not as a distant issue, but as a shared responsibility rooted in care, courage, and everyday choices.
Her message reframed kindness as active and dynamic, choosing fairness over convenience, standing with both people and planet, and acting even when outcomes are uncertain. She highlighted that climate change is not equal, as those who contribute least often suffer the most. Through stories of advocacy and action, students were reminded that true leadership means seeing clearly, feeling honestly, and acting responsibly for a more hopeful and sustainable future.
